Rug Under Bed Size
Before you decide on a rug size for your queen bed, you should first determine some key characteristics of your room, which will include taking some measurements. Here are some examples on how each rug size can be featured under or beside the queen bed (afterwards, see our infographic at the end of the article for a quick and easy comparison between all popular sizes):
Rug under bed size. In our bedroom, that’s what size of rug we got and it fits our queen size bed perfectly. This means that the ideal rug pad for a rug will be 2 shorter and narrower than the rug. If the head of your bed meets the wall, the rug should start about a foot away.

A rug pad will help keep your rug from sliding around under your household's foot traffic. Thanks so much for the guide. However, it doesn’t give you quite as much coverage on the side or end of the bed as a 8×10 rug would, so most of the rug’s design will be covered by the bed.

Hi my bedroom is 12x16 with a queen size bed against a 12ft wall. A good rule of thumb for choosing the right size rug pad is to leave 1 of rug overhang on all sides of the rug pad. Full bed with a 6×9 rug.
